74th Fighter Squadron returns home

More than 300 Airmen from Moody AFB returned home after a seven-month deployment in support of Operation Inherent Resolve to defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in designated areas in the Middle East.

During the deployment, the 74th Fighter Squadron flew more than 1,700 sorties, employed weapons  4,400 times, destroyed 2,300 targets and killed 2,800 ISIS insurgents. 

While combating ISIS, the 74th FS earned 65 Air Medals, five single-event Air Medals, four Combat Action Medals and received four Distinguished Flying Cross nominations.
