TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The 9th Air Force command chief visited Team Tyndall units Aug. 28 to 30.
Chief Master Sgt. David W. Wade, 9th Air Force command chief at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, advises the 9th Air Force commander and staff on matters influencing the health, welfare, morale and effective utilization of all assigned personnel.
Wade spent time at different units talking with Airmen and highlighting their place in the profession of arms and how their efforts affect the Tyndall mission.
"As the Air Force leads the global charge of air dominance, we must not neglect our most valuable asset - the Airmen,” Wade said. “Teaching your Airmen about the Profession of Arms is vital to letting them know where they fit in with the big picture. In a time when we ask more and more from our Airmen and their families, it is important to also let them know the hard work they do everyday matters, is valued and cherished."
Wade visited the 823rd RED HORSE Squadron, 325th Security Forces Squadron, 325th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department, 325th Maintenance Group, 325th Medical Group and the 325th Operations Group.
“He took time out of his day to boost morale, got to know his Airmen and thank them for their hard work,” said Senior Airman Lauren DiFante, 325th Medical Support Squadron radiology diagnostic imaging technologist. “[Chief] Wade said ‘when people think Air Force they think about planes, but without every Airmen working together at doing their best in their job, planes would not get in the air. I think he really wanted us to know that every Airman, no matter what their job is, impacts the mission.”
Ninth Air Force is comprised of eight active-duty wings and three direct reporting units with more than 400 aircraft and 29,000 active-duty and civilian personnel.
